Neil - Enjoyed meeting at the Lucas Arms, beer was reasonably priced and we had a good table thanks to 'Alberto', who turned up late for his reservation, in fact being more than an hour late should have meant we kept it for the remaining twenty minutes but I don't make the rules. Shock, horror! The curry house Mark booked for us online was closed so we had to go to Graeme and Dom's fave across the road. Very fortuitous however as a great meal. The mixed starter was excellent, I'd have had this as a main as well if I'd known how good it was, my Chicken Rogan was very good though with lots of tasty sauce which helped with the quite dry plain rice which is the only negative I can think of beyond not much choice of beer.

Dave - Good evening out in Kings Cross - enjoyable drink in the pub before at Alberto's reserved tables - we maybe should have got Alberto to reserve the restaurant as to everyone's amusement we arrived at the Gulab Tandoori to be greeted by a "closed for refurbishment" sign. On arrival at the relocated venue "complimentary" poppadoms were served (no spicy ones) - nearly had to stray from the Griff set menu as only tropical prawn purée on offer - but soon resolved by them agreeing to remove the pineapple (odd addition to a prawn purée anyway). Overall meal was fine - On the ambience side I didn't like the big telly above our table showing some cricket match that no one was interested in. Good to see Graeme back out - restored some much needed control to the ordering process.

Graeme - It was good to be back after a 7 month absence. The conversation / banter was as good as always, although there was a bit of a medical twist to some of the subject matter! Anyway, onto the meal. We got off to an unexpected start when the restaurant THAT WE HAD BOOKED (Gulab Tandoori) turned out to be closed for renovation! Luckily, the nearby Kings Cross Tandoori was able to accommodate us. I had my all-time favourite Fish Tikka to start - perfect. For main I went for a Chicken Tikka Pathia - excellent. Complimentary poppadoms at the beginning and liqueurs at the end were a nice touch. All-in-all it was a very good meal and well worth the money.

Brian - Special starter with seafood was very good. Lamb main was so good I forced myself to finish it all, which was more than my digestive system could cope with, hence I experienced the legendary MAE at around 3am, which wasn't conducive to a good night's sleep prior to walking the streets of Bushey for several hours the next morning. I now have another reason for sticking to fish mains. Highlight of the evening was the hilarious discovery that the restaurant we'd booked was closed and undergoing a refurb - the internet isn't always that great!

Jeff - Others I'm sure will comment on the fact that we did not intend to go here, but the Gulab was closed. We were welcomed with open arms. The restaurant is quite plain, and small, but there were plenty of staff and we were fed reasonably quickly. There was Cobra AND Kingfisher. My Puri was fortunately able to come without pineapple, rendering it very pleasant. Decent main course of tandoori chops, and veg and rice were ok. As I said last time, the meal was ok, the place won't let you down. And also as before, generous free liqueurs were given out at the end of the evening.

Richard - Good to see everyone again, especially Founding Father Stansfield. After a false start at the closed yet booked curryhouse, we diverted to the sister restaurant, after taking the opportunity to abuse Mark on WhatsApp (although not his fault). The staff were apologetic about allowing the booking and were attentive. The food was good: a tasty lamb chop starter, followed by one of the specials, a nice Ghost Kara Massala (lamb in a thick sauce with ginger and peppers). Sides, rice, nan and drinks were all a good standard and pricing was ok for the location.

Jon - After a late change of venue due to a phantom online booking, the Kings Cross Tandoori did not disappoint.  There was a slight twist to my reshmi kebab in that one of the patties was in a fried egg rather than an omelette, and it was very good.  The mixed grill main course was also good and we were very well looked after. Another excellent evening.
