Mark - Having spent over £1/2m quid earlier in the day, I had hoped our TasteCard discounts would get us below the 'new normal' of £40 but sadly not - I blame the additional egg! Service was slow to start but overall fairly rapid allowing me to depart on time in my sober state. Chicken Tikka starter was tasty and the accompanying sauces with pops very good. Beef Rezala main was tender and had just enough kick on first taste to make it interesting. I missed out on all the breads and sides but have been advised I was pungent enough the next day without aid from unusual concoctions. Good to see a reasonable turnout even if Dom a late casualty.

Jeff - The Sripur was sadly totally lacking in atmosphere, as for most of the evening there were only a couple of other diners. We sat at the back, where we'd been before. Service was quite jaunty and engaging. The menu was reassuringly small, but still plenty of choice - including, unusually, beef curries. I chose one of these, the Beef Sripur, expecting a special meal, but there was only a slight lemon flavour to the beef. Starter, veg, rice etc were just ok - so all in all I was a little disappointed as I'd always liked it here. I've just checked, and in 2012 the price was £36, so to be honest £41 wasn't bad. Great conversation as usual, shame Dom missed out with a bad back.

Tim - It was quite quiet in the restaurant when we arrived, unlike the pub next door had been. The mixed starter was perfectly decent, though nothing really stood out. It was unusual to see several beef dishes on the menu, so I tried the beef Kalia - quite tasty, though not that spicy, despite being described as "with chillies". The cheese and keema nans were both ok, though the meat in the keema seemed extra thin and the cheese flavour was not the strongest. The starters were quite slow to come out - an hour after we arrived, but then it seemed like the waiters were hovering around ready to remove the plates as soon as we had finished. The mains arrived shortly after, and mine was only warm, so it looks like the kitchen made the starters and mains at about the same time. Other than that , the service was ok, and I got my glass of water without having to ask more than once. Overall I thought it quite expensive, given that we had a number of Tastecard discounts, and there was no free round of liqueurs offered.

John - Lovely garlic chilli chicken with a king prawn puree starter. Tasted even better with the 4 pints of Oliver's Island as a pre dinner drink.

Neil - Starters took a while to arrive considering it was a very quiet night but meal very tasty, especially my Chicken Tikka Biryani which had a light chilli sauce (rather than the normal thick veg. curry) which worked very well. Cheese nan was bit of let down, fresh but with only a hint of cheese. Broke my 'no side dishes' rule and tried Brian's curried eggs and it was indeed pretty good. Given recent price rises I've given VFM a relatively high mark as we had a fair few beers and the quality of the food was not to be faulted.

Graeme - This was our first visit to Sripur for nearly 10 years and I, for one, enjoyed it. Meeting in the Hung Drawn & Quartered, I was able to indulge my new love of pale ale (India or otherwise) - it's like starting to drink again! It was a bit of a mixed bag from Sripur. Overall, it was a very good meal but my starter of King Prawn Puree was deconstructed with the (few) prawns being outside of the bread and the price was on the high side. However, my Garlic Chilli Chicken main was excellent. At the pub, I was able to chat with 3-band-Rats about my guitar - marvellous!

Jon - I was pleased to return to the Sripur after so long but while it was good, it didn't blow me away.  The choice of starters wasn't great and my chicken tikka was about average.  My lamb dansak was tasty without being exceptional.  Service was attentive and friendly if a little slow initially, although one bonus is that my special rice was out first for once.  Good night as usual – working from home means that curry nights are pretty much my only visits to London so are taking on an extra significance.  Long may they continue!
