Neil - A return to the old Curry Leaf East, now renamed and obviously super trendy given it was packed when we arrived. Food was of a good standard, I enjoyed the Paneer Tikka starter although the small portion size has lowered the mark, the Chicken Biryani main was plentiful and tasty especially the vegetable curry sauce which was very 'zesty'. Debated what to give the service mark as they managed the high numbers well and we actually got out early, that said they had to be reminded of our booking and deposit paid as well as the set menu people not getting their dessert, so have given a seven when they could have had a nine.

Jon - One of the busiest restaurants we've ever been to which was a promising sign, and it didn't disappoint.  I joined Graeme and Jeff in one of the set menus which looked to offer good value – I selected the lamb shank and, while not on a par with the long-defunct Mehek, it was very good.  The portion sizes were very generous such that the two veg dishes that we got with the set menus was more than enough and there was food left over.  With a 25% discount on the food, it came at what is, these days, a very reasonable price.

Jeff - India 2 was very busy indeed, but still provided us with a great meal with large portions, and with the discount Mark had negotiated it came in at a very reasonable £40.  It remains to be seen whether they will keep this standard up when they've been in business longer. 

Mark - Very full restaurant that tried to push us back to 8pm despite booking and paying £50 deposit but then delivered food in good time and well presented. My bright green chicken starter was unusual and a bit soft (boiled?) but the main of Goa Garlic Lamb was very good and plentiful. Tasty with a bit of zing and tender meat. Some nice booze before in Artillery Arms made it an overall good evening although not sure it would have been if everyone had turned up as we might have been crammed in a bit.

Dave - Fantastic meal at the India 2 … nothing to find fault with. As part of the diverse "new griff" (v2.0) I once again ditched the "old griff" set menu and went for salmon tikka starter followed by chicken shashlik main. Both were superb. The ambience was amazing as the place was packed and despite being very busy we were served promptly. All this for only £40 a head - think India 2 could topple the empress from top spot and maybe become "the new mehek" and "herb and spice" over time. Already looking forward to revisiting next year …

Graeme - It was good to meet up in The Artillery Arms, an old-fashioned London boozer. When we got to the restaurant, it was very crowded with people waiting to be seated. However, we were immediately ushered through to our table. After deliberating on my menu choice, I decided to join Jon & Jeff (and possibly someone else) in having a set menu (which offered a few options for the main course). I had the Mixed Platter of Starters (which gave a good selection and was very well cooked) and for main the Garlic Chilli Chicken (Tikka) (which was excellent). This restaurant was previously the Curry Leaf East and there has been no obvious change made to the layout or the decor - it just seems more lively.
